About Chickenpox
Chickenpox is an infectious disease that can cause tiredness; itchy blisters on the trunk, face, and scalp; and a low-grade fever. Caused by an infection with the varicella zoster virus (VZV), chickenpox is generally a mild disease in children -- lasting for about 5 to 10 days -- and it usually does not occur twice over the course of a person's life. But did you know that some people do die from chickenpox? Or that some people can get the disease twice?

Welcome to the Chickenpox Health Channel by eMedTV. On this channel, you will find articles covering a wide range of information about chickenpox. Whether you are the parent of a child who has come down with chickenpox or are an adult who has never had chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccine -- and would like information on how to get vaccinated against the disease -- we have the information you are looking for.
